I have seen a pair of wild stoats doing this and indeed the Wikipedia entry speculates that "The stoat reputedly immobilises prey such as rabbits by mesmerising them with a ‘dance’".

Oskar does this all the time but I’ve never been able to get a shot as I’ve always been completely mesmerised.
