It is a lively dance with an upbeat tempo. Performed by couples who combine fast, graceful movements with playful humor, the Joget has its origins in Portuguese folk dance, which was introduced to Melaka during the era of the spice trade.

Haags UIT Festival 2010 – Dance Works Rotterdam

Tijdens het Haags UIT Festival was het collectief van de Haagse dansorganisaties, Den Haag Danst! op het Spuiplein aanwezig met een heuse ‘dansdome’. In en rond deze dome was tijdens het festival van alles te beleven, waaronder een demonstratie van spectaculaire sprongen door dansers van Dance Works Rotterdam. Zij namen een aanloop, zetten zich af op een soort schans en landden na een acrobatische sprong op grote kussens. Geweldig om te zien en natuurlijk ook heel tof om te fotograferen!
