NHS NEW Devon CCG is supporting the NHS winter campaign, ‘Feeling under the weather?’
Campaign urges older people to seek early advice from their pharmacist.
The campaign is urging older people to seek early advice from their pharmacist for minor winter illnesses. It is targeted at the over 60s, and also at those aged 45 and above who often look after an older friend, neighbour or relative.
If you’re over 60 a minor illness can get worse quickly. The campaign encourages people feeling under the weather with a bad cough, trouble breathing, a cold or sore throat, to pop down to their local pharmacy for quick health advice.
Satellite Sees Movement of Severe Weather Systems

This GOES animation shows the movement of two low pressure areas from the Great Lakes to the Mid-Atlantic over the course of three days from June 11 to June 13. These low pressure areas rode a stalled frontal boundary and brought some strong to severe weather with them from Chicago to the Mid-Atlantic states. The animation was created by NASA’s GOES Project at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. using data from the GOES-13 satellite.
The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center forecast a Moderate Risk of severe thunderstorms on Thursday for parts of the Mid-Atlantic, with a Slight Risk area from the Mid-Atlantic to the Gulf Coast states. Significant wind damage expected, along with the possibility of large hail and a few tornadoes. Heavy rainfall will also accompany the system.
