Poor Man’s Weather Vane

The Scarlet Pimpernel is a tiny red bloom that is also called poor man’s weather vane because as weather cools, the flowers fold up till the sun comes back out. The flower above was wide open just one hour before this shot was taken. When clouds appeared and the temperature dropped, the flowers began to react by closing up.
