(Patrice-photographiste)

If art is simply Beauty, as Oscar Wilde told us, then what is Living Art? Could it be art that makes beauty accessible to all, to the creators as well as to those who love and seek beauty in their everyday life? Is this what we try to do on Flickr my friends? (Patrice-photographiste)

Living Stone Succulent Flower
live
This picture appears to show a flower growing up through a split in a rock. Actually, it’s all a succulent plant called the Living Stone or the Living Rock. The plant is very small and measures just two and one half inches (6.35 centimeters) across including the "stones".

I lit this very simply with one YN560-II in a softbox camera right, slightly above the plant, at 2 o’clock. The flash, in manual mode, was triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N.

Other plants, flowers, fruit or thingys that I’ve photographed using strobes, can be seen in my Strobe Lit Plant set. In the description for that set, I list resources that I’ve used to learn how to light with off camera flash. www.flickr.com/photos/9422

If you like pictures of cactus and succulents, you might not hate my Cactus and Succulents set. That set can be seen here www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157633383093236/
